trigger warnings for rape & abuse. let’s have a talk about consent, shall we ?? so, the argument here is that because you, the muns, are consenting to this –– it’s all whoopsie daisy, right ?? because rape kinks are a thing ! because rape play is a thing ! but let me stop you … right there ! let me stop you at accusing me of kinkshaming as if i’m not myself a bratty masochist rope bunny who made my first serious boyfriend tie me up … let me stop you at someone who enjoys less vanilla porn … someone who wants to be manhandled & punched in the god damn face … let me stop you as a victim of sexual abuse … let THAT heaux stop you. because none of this is kinkshaming ! none of it, i swear. but here’s the thing, SUGAR TITS – when you, in real life, participate in rape play. what do you and your partner agree on ? a safe word ! ‘cause it’s all CONSENSUAL. when characters in rape play pornos do their thing, is someone ACTUALLY being raped ? no ! of course not ! unless you’re some sick freak looking at deep web home made movies, then i guess … fucking turn yourself in, creep. it’s all based on a mutual understanding and consent ! that’s the basis of bdsm, isn’t it ? so, when you write – you, personally, givingconsent – your characters AREN’T.
and if your characters aren’t giving consent, it’s rape. it’s not rape play, it’s rape. now how is this harmful for survivors ? well, most of the time, these themes, are not tagged properly. and the muns writing this out ROMANTICISES the sexual abuse over time because … how can you not ? you can not write out something horrible without rationalising it, one way or another. and thus, you are apologising for rape. sure, it may be fictional ! but you don’t see rape scenes sexualised in books, movies, or tv shows. they are usually not even written out, hardly ever that graphic – unless they’re LOOKING to trigger people ( 13 reasons why, what is GOOD? ). why is that ? because it’s HARMFUL and DISGUSTING. and more often than not, it’s a one time occurence. and NEVER do they romanticise the relationship, nor come up with excuses for the abuser. that is the difference. your characters can participate in rape play, consensual and all, and it’d be dandy ! that’s a part of bdsm culture. but what is not … is ACTUAL rape. it really shouldn’t be that hard to wrap your mind around it, folks. that is all, have a splendid day !!
well it's true, we can use poc for whatever we want. granted, slave rps shouldn't exist and nobody should apply for them, but we can use whatever faceclaims we like for things
i’m not saying you shouldn’t use poc faceclaims?? i’m all for more diversity EVERYWHERE but you’d have to be really fuckin’ disrespectful to join a rp about slavery with native or black face claims? where they’re treated as slaves with no rights? ring a bell? that’s the whole point, it’s extremely problematic and nasty.
